The goal of the Honor Guard is to represent the Sheriff’s Office with a high degree of honor, dignity and professionalism in adherence with the long cherished traditions of the law enforcement profession. Each officer must have discipline, stamina and present a professional appearance on a daily basis. The officers must also be extremely dependable and have ability to work as a unified squad.
As the face of the office, the officers bear the responsibility of upholding the traditions of self-sacrifice, ethics, and a willingness to put others before self to make their community a better place for all.
The primary duty of the Honor Guard is to represent the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office at Law Enforcement, Fire Fighter and Military funerals, parades and other ceremonies as directed by the Sheriff. Presentation of the colors, marching and the twenty-one gun salute are all functions of the Honor Guard.
The participation of the Honor Guard is based on the worthiness of the event, combined with operational commitments.
The Team Coordinator and the Sheriff must approve request for the Honor Guard.
